  • The Power of Legacy Planning
The Perinton Chamber of Commerce has invited Mark Colgan, national speaker and author of The Survivor Assistance Handbook to give a one-hour presentation titled "The Power of Legacy Planning" on Wednesday, February 13th at 6:30pm. This event will be held at the Brookwood Inn at 800 Pittsofrd-Victor Road. You must pre-register for this seminar by Friday, February 8th.

This lively presentation is about legacy planning, a topic very different from that of estate planning. Esate planning is about money and inheritance; legacy planning is about life. It addresses your non-financial leave-behinds like ethics, morality, faith, and religion. Legacy planning also addresses questions like "How do I want to be remembered? What kind of legacy do I want to leave? What are my values and wishes that I want to have passed on? And what about my personal possessions?"

Does this topic sound a bit unusual? It is, but it is also very timely. A recent landmark study found that money wasn't high on the list of people's priorities. In fact, passing along "values and life lessons" was overwhelmingly considered (by over 75 percent) the most important element of a person's legacy. Since Mark began speaking on this topic in 2002 he has been invited on several occasions to be a keynote speaker at locations all over the United States. Please join us and get specific ideas on how to build your own legacy plan so your hopes, dreams and wishes for you and your family become a reality.
